4. Press 'e' to edit the entry.
5. Append -Bintel-iommu=no to the line so that it looks like this:
kernel$ /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -Bintel-iommu=
no
6. Press Enter then press 'b' to boot.
If you are adding this boot option to a list of existing options, note that the
delimiter for boot options is a comma.
For example:
kernel$ /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -Bconsole=
ttya,intel-iommu=no
7. After the installation completes, repeat the GRUB editing step outlined above
prior to boot.
8. Boot, and edit /platform/i86pc/kernel/drv/rootnex.conf, adding
the line:
intel-iommu=no
9. After installation, modify:
/platform/i86pc/kernel/drv/rootnex.conf: adding
intel-iommu=no
10.Rebuild the boot archive by typing:
bootadm update-archive
6767389 Hot-Insert for Certain ExpressModules Is Not Supported by Solaris and
OpenSolaris
Issue:
When using Solaris 10 10/08 or OpenSolaris 2008.11, the following
ExpressModules cannot be hot-inserted:
Sun Fibre Channel - 4Gigabit/Sec PCIe Dual FC / Dual Gigabit Ethernet Host
Adapter ExpressModule (EM) (SG-XPCIE2FCGBE-Q-Z)
Fibre Channel - 4Gigabit/Sec PCI-X Dual FC Host Adapter (Emulex) (SG-
XPCIE2FCGBE-E-Z)
Sun Quad Gigabit Ethernet Module (X7284A-Z)
Affected Operating Systems and Software:
Solaris 10 10/08
OpenSolaris 2008.11
Supplemental Software Releases 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1
Workaround:
Insert the affected modules and reboot in order for them to be recognized.
