6783710 ExpressModule (X1028A-Z) Is Not Supported by Solaris and OpenSolaris

Issue:

The Solaris 10 10/08 and OpenSolaris 2008.11 operating systems do not support

the Sun x8 PCI Express Dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet ExpressModule (X1028A-Z and

1108A-Z).

Affected Operating Systems and Software:

• Solaris 10 10/08

• OpenSolaris 2008.11

• Supplemental Software Releases 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1

Workaround:

For Solaris, support will be bundled into a future release. For OpenSolaris, Oplin

ExpressModule support is bundled into OpenSolaris 2009.06.

6836590 High-Speed USB 2.0 Devices Might Not Enumerate Properly

Issue:

In rare cases when booting the Solaris 10 10/08 Operating System, a USB

initialization problem can occur that causes high-speed devices to go undetected

by Solaris.

Affected Operating Systems and Software:

• Solaris 10 10/08

• Supplemental Software Releases 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1

Workaround:

Reboot Solaris. If USB enumeration issues persist across multiple consecutive

reboots, then the problem is not due to this known issue.
