6800672 ixgbe (1.3.53) Driver Is Not Supported on RHEL 5.3

Issue:

The latest ixgbe (1.3.53) driver from Intel cannot compile on RHEL 5.3 for PCI

Express Single (1106A-Z) or Dual (1180A-Z or 1107A-Z) 10-Gigabit Ethernet

unless the setting for Large Receive Offload is disabled.

Affected Operating Systems and Software:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.3

• Supplemental Software Releases 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1

Workaround:

Compile with the earlier ixgbe driver (1.3.47).

6801897 RHEL 4.7 ipmi_si Driver Does Not Load With Default Parameters

Issue:

IPMI service fails to start. RHEL 4.7 ipmi_si driver does not load with default

parameters.

Affected Operating Systems and Software:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4.7

• Supplemental Software Releases 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1

Workaround:

1. Edit /etc/modprobe.conf

2. Add the following line to change default ipmi_si driver parameters:

options ipmi_si type="kcs" ports=0xCA2 regspacings="4"

3. Save changes and exit.

4. Stop the service:

/etc/init.d/ipmi stop || service ipmi stop

5. Start the service:

/etc/init.d/ipmi start || service ipmi start
