6746934 After Hot-Plug Operation, Some PCI ExpressModules Might Display a Stop-
Error Message or Might Not Appear in Device List
Issue:
A "0x00000124" Stop error message occurs when you use the hot-plugging feature
to add or to remove a PCI Express device on a Windows Server 2008 based
computer or on a Windows Vista-based computer.
Note - This issue can also be encountered during the software installation
process.
Additionally, some PCI ExpressModules might not return to service properly
after a hot-plug operation. The module might not appear in the device list or
might appear with a yellow exclamation point next to the device description.
Affected Operating Systems and Software:
• Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista
• Supplemental Software Releases 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1
Workaround:
Microsoft has an updated PCI bus driver for PCI Express that addresses a
potential bug where the Max Payload Size might be configured incorrectly on the
PCI Express root port if the root port is disabled and then re-enabled.
